About The Client
Conrad Cheung is an artist based in Ohio, United States. He wanted a personal portfolio website that not only displayed his work but also reflected his artistic identity. His existing website was built on Squarespace, but its limitations made it difficult to scale, customize, or create the unique experience he envisioned.

The Challenge

Conrad’s existing site struggled to keep up with his vision.

Outdated design

The site felt static and uninspiring, failing to match Conrad’s dynamic artistry, taste and personality.

Platform limitations

Squarespace made complex, custom layouts nearly impossible.

No real CMS design

Updating projects meant duplicating entire pages, slowing down workflow.

Poor responsiveness design

Limited mobile control meant the experience didn’t translate well across devices.

In short, the website was holding back Conrad’s creativity.

What We’re Trying
to Achieve

Create a playful, mouse driven interactive experience.
Introduce subtle animations that enhance rather than distract.
Build a custom, scalable grid layout for projects.
Ensure the site was fully responsive across all devices.
Develop project templates for easy future updates.

Our Approach

To bring Conrad’s vision to life, we took a creative, technical approach, which allowed us to merge artistic expression with functionality, keeping the site fast, functional, and engaging.

Migration to Webflow

This gave us the flexibility and scalability to match Conrad’s creative needs.

p5.js integration

Implemented a lightweight, interactive canvas that responds to mouse movement.

Template Page Customization

Tailored the CMS template page to accommodate different types of projects, ensuring flexible and scalable content presentation.

Custom code

Ensured pixel-perfect layouts and responsive design across devices.

The Result

The migration from Squarespace to Webflow was a success. While SEO wasn’t a top priority, we implemented basic technical SEO best practices to ensure the site’s foundation was strong.

The final site not only matched Conrad’s vision but also gave him the flexibility to update and scale his portfolio with ease. The interactive touches made the experience feel unique and true to his artistic personality.

Most importantly, Conrad was thrilled with the outcome. Working with an artist meant paying attention to the smallest details, which pushed us to refine the project even further. In the end, the collaboration resulted in a website as creative and polished as the work it represents.
