When the design is already done, the build has to be flawless.
Conrad Cheung is an artist based in Ohio, United States. He wanted a personal portfolio website that not only displayed his work but also reflected his artistic identity. His existing website was built on Squarespace, but its limitations made it difficult to scale, customize, or create the unique experience he envisioned.

Who Is Conrad
Artist, writer, and professor at the University of Florida
Conrad had been working with Nick, a graphic designer, on a new site. The design was done. They needed a team who could build it without losing what they'd put into it.
They found us on the Webflow Experts listing. Shortlisted us on portfolio, consistency, and price. Then got in touch.
We were trying to get away from the kinds of standard template outcomes that you would get from something like Squarespace.

A Different Kind of Client
Conrad and Nick both work in art and design professionally. They had strong opinions, knew what they wanted, and could tell immediately when something was off. By their own words, they're a bit more obsessive than most clients.
That made for a tighter process. Feedback was specific, revisions had a clear direction, and nothing slipped through.Conrad had been working with Nick, a graphic designer, on a new site. The design was done. They needed a team who could build it without losing what they'd put into it.
The brief had five clear demands :
A mouse-driven interactive experience on the homepage
Subtle animation that adds to the experience, not over it.
A custom CMS grid so Conrad can add new work without calling the team
Project templates for easy future updates
Three colour themes (pink, blue, green) that persist as you move between pages
The Technical build
p5.js - Interactive canvas
We used p5.js to build a canvas on the homepage that reacts to where your mouse is. As you move through the page, it responds. It's not a big effect, but it gives the site a quality that most portfolios don't have.
Custom CMS grid
Conrad's work sits across three series. We built a CMS grid organised the same way, so adding new work means filling in a template, not calling the team.
CSS animations
Hover states, transitions, page flow. Everything moves, nothing distracts. Each animation was there for a reason.
Custom code
Where Webflow's tools ran out, we wrote custom code. The layouts hold across every screen size and behave the way they should.
The Client - In Their Words
The Outcome
Conrad has a site built to how he works. He can add new projects himself, the layout reflects how his practice is organised, and the homepage has something most artist portfolios don't.
What changed :
Squarespace to Webflow
Full creative control, no platform ceiling.
Manual process to CMS
New work added in minutes, no page duplication.
Static layout to p5.js canvas
Homepage responds to mouse movement in real time.
Generic responsiveness to custom breakpoints
Consistent across every screen size.
